Getaway to one of Shenandoah Valley’s most romantic bed and breakfasts in a charming country setting on a mountain stream in the tiny mountain town of Goshen, VA. Our six Guestrooms and three Living areas have a comfortable blend of old and new interior with fine art and private baths.  Each provides a sanctuary of romantic relaxation to reconnect and refresh. The spacious communal Dining Room boasts a 24/7 complimentary coffee and tea bar. With over 2200 square feet of 1st and 2nd floor verandas including the gazebo on Mill Creek, there is space enough to be social or private as you wish.  History buffs appreciate our circa 1853 home with original rooms dating back to 1780. Steeped in railroad history, Goshen was a bustling passenger train depot in the 19th Century, a bygone era.  Our 1875 barn, the old town livery, was built directly on Mill Creek and makes its vast presence among the Inn’s backyard gardens. The big beautiful George Washington National Forest surrounds us. We are 4 doors from the Appalachian Waters Scenic Route 39 Byway and 5 minutes to Goshen Pass, Virginia’s oldest state managed natural area, and the activities it provides from nature walks, invigorating hikes, fishing, kayaking and swimming, all in a spectacular mountain gorge setting. Scenic drives abound in all directions from the Hummingbird Inn taking you to hiking, horseback riding, farm tours, wineries, breweries, antiquing and the cultural offerings of Lexington, Staunton, Clifton Forge, Warm Springs and Hot Springs, then come home to your private retreat or great place to be with family and friends.

In addition to welcoming you to the authentically-restored architecture of the Inn, sharing its history and the excitement of passing trains, and guiding you through the abundant nearby recreational opportunities, Innkeepers Sandra and Jeff proudly offer seasonal, farm-fresh local fare at the Inn’s complimentary two-course country breakfast and for “special order” picnic lunches to go, dessert and appetizer plates, or our cheese & charcuterie board with wine and chocolates for a nice dinner alternative. Experience the natural and cultural treasures of the Shenandoah Valley from a cozy home-base at the Hummingbird Inn. Once you do, you’ll see why our guests return again and again!  p.s. our tap water is from a natural spring here in Goshen
