Have you ever wondered…..

  • why one violin costs $10 million and another costs $100?
  • Or why a Stradivarius violin has come to symbolize the epitome of artistic craftsmanship?
  • Or how the unique construction of the cello results in its rich sound?

If so, come to both Musical Icebreakers this weekend where all of these questions and more will be answered
Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at 2pm.

John Montgomery, one of the most respected violin makers in the world, oversees the prestigious collection of string instruments at the Smithsonian and the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.  In two fascinating presentations, he will demonstrate how a violin is created and shed light on the legendary violin makers of Cremona.
